With the three efficient workshops and on-site expertise, various types of finished products exist within Bionexx. Different forms of finished products make up the current product range, from pasty forms like concretes to fluid forms like absolutes and powdery forms like crystals.
Pasty extracts, such as concretes, are obtained through an extraction process that isolates valuable plant molecules using the two available technologies on-site. Different purification processes allow to obtain concentrated extracts, such as absolutes or high-actives powders.
Each year, 6,000 tons of raw materials are processed in the workshops, resulting in a diversified portfolio of products. These products are destinated for various markets, including the pharmaceutical, cosmetic, fragrance, and agri-food sectors.
In line with the waste source reduction policy, solvents used during extract production are reprocessed and reused. The extracted plant material is thoroughly researched in the R&D department to be valorized into a second product with applications. After this second life, a portion of the plant material is briquetted and used as fuel for the boiler that supplies the production workshops with steam. The remaining plant material is used as fertilizer in the fields. Waste that cannot be processed on-site is sent to specialized waste treatment companies.
